Shane Rimmer has Died

Shane Rimmer has died - voice of Scott Tracy

We’re very sad to report that the legendary voice of Scott Tracy Shane Rimmer has died at the age of 89.

Shane’s passing was confirmed by his widow Sheila Rimmer, and was first commented on online by Bond historian Mark O’Connell and producer Jonathan Sothcott on Twitter.

Shane’s incredible career took him from singing on stage as part of a travelling Trio, to roles in Bond and Doctor Strangelove, and from voicing many characters for Gerry Anderson – most notably Thunderbird 1 pilot Scott Tracy.

Shane’s career was looked at in depth as part of our ‘Beyond Anderson’ YouTube series.

And more recently, we had interviewed Shane for the Gerry Anderson Podcast.

Shane Rimmer passed away in the early hours of Friday 29th March. He was 89.

Our thoughts are with Shane’s widow Sheila, their sons and grandchildren, as well as Shane’s friends and colleagues at this terribly sad time.
