This week in Gerry Anderson News

Computer tells us that it’s time for the Gerry Anderson news roundup – and Computer never makes mistakes!

This week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Sunday evening, and featured the second part of an interview with Space Precinct actor David Quilter! If you prefer to stick with traditional audio-only rather than our new and improved video format you can still catch it (and all other previous episodes) every week either through our website or via your podcast platform of choice.

Also new this week over on the Gerry Anderson Randomiser Podcast (also available on all podcast platforms) The Protectors are on the hunt for a blackmailer in See No Evil!

Next weekend (Friday 13th – Sunday 15th September) we’ll be attending London: 1999, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Space: 1999! Join us for exclusive panels, guest appearances, and a special exhibition. Plus we have our own exciting Space: 1999 announcement and plans coming to celebrate 50 years of Moonbase Alpha – book your tickets here!

We continued our countdown of Stingray’s top 10 episodes this week at #9, as a mystery of vanishing vessels leads to a deadly entrapment for Troy and Phones in The Disappearing Ships!

This week’s Thunderbirds Thursday article counted down five of the best rescue operations performed by the Thunderbird 2 pod vehicles!

Now available from the Official Gerry Anderson Store is this limited edition set of Supercar confectionary cards, fully reproducing the 1960s originals! Most satisfactory!

Celebrating birthdays this week were Space:1999 actor Jeffery Kissoon (September 4th) and UFO actress Suzanne Neve (September 6th), while on September 2nd we also remembered the 1927 birth of Francis Matthews, the voice of the original Captain Scarlet. Popular Anderson episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include New Captain Scarlet‘s Touch of the Reaper (September 3rd 2005) and the first episodes of both seasons of Space:1999; Breakaway on September 4th 1975, and The Metamorph on September 4th 1976!

We’ll be back next weekend with another Gerry Anderson news roundup – will you be joining us? Human decision required!
