This week in Gerry Anderson news!

This is Assembly Control calling all Anderson fan units – news roundup, phase 1, go!

This week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Sunday evening, and featured the second part of an interview with artist Paul Shipper, who produced the lovely poster for our upcoming Stand by for Action 2 concert! If you prefer to stick with traditional audio-only rather than our new and improved video format you can still catch it (and all other previous episodes) every week either through our website or via your podcast platform of choice.

Also new this week over on the Gerry Anderson Randomiser Podcast (also available on all podcast platforms) it could be curtains for Eddie Houseman as he reaches the End of the Road in a classic episode of Thunderbirds!

Our recent limited edition Thunderbird 2 model sold out a few weeks ago – but a chance warehouse find means we have a very limited number of models back in stock! Do NOT miss your chance to pick one of these up if you were considering it, because this model is now out of production & we won’t be getting anymore!

You’ve still got time to pre-order one of our limited edition Stingray replica sidearms! These are also a limited edition of 500 units, and this week we have a new trailer showing off images of the replica you can pre-order today!

Stand By For Action! 2: Tunes of Danger, an exciting musical extravaganza bringing the music of Gerry Anderson’s worlds to life through a live full orchestra concert performance, is just over a month away! Here’s a new handy guide explaining what you can expect!

If you are going to be attending the Stand by for Action 2 concert in Birmingham on July 13th you will also be able to experience a unique curation of classic Gerry Anderson annuals, books, and other merchandise as part of our free From The Archives exhibit, open from 2pm on the day of the concert!

In this week’s Thunderbirds Thursday article, we’re going behind the scenes and investigating how the Thunderbird vehicles were conceived, designed, and built!

Who’s your favourite lead character from an Anderson series? That’s the question on this week’s edition of the Podcast Extra – and it’s very quickly answered!

Space Precinct‘s Sergeant Fredo celebrated his birthday on June 11th, while we also remembered on the anniversaries of their births Space:1999 star Barry Morse (June 10th 1918) and Captain Scarlet & UFO star Ed Bishop (June 11th 1932). Popular Anderson episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include Four Feather FallsGunplay (June 9th 1960), Fireball XL5‘s The Day The Earth Froze (June 9th 1963), Supercar‘s Trapped in the Depths (June 10th 1961), Stingray‘s Hostages of the Deep (June 13th 1965), and TerrahawksJolly Roger One (June 14th 1986).

We’ll be back next weekend with another Gerry Anderson news roundup – this is Assembly Control, closing down!
