This week in Gerry Anderson News

The name’s roundup; the Gerry Anderson news roundup! For twenty months I’ve been reviewing Gerry Anderson news, and now? Now let’s say this week’s roundup takes us to another Precinct!

This week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Sunday evening, and featured the first part of an interview with New Captain Scarlet himself Wayne Forester! If you prefer to stick with traditional audio-only rather than our new and improved video format you can still catch it (and all other previous episodes) every week either through our website or via your podcast platform of choice.

This week’s episode of the Anderson Audio Adventures podcast is the second and final part of Thunderbirds: Brains is Dead!

Also new this week over on the Gerry Anderson Randomiser Podcast (also available on all podcast platforms) it was all change for the crew of Moonbase Alpha in the first episode of Space:1999‘s second season, The Metamorph!

Space Precinct is coming to Blu-ray! Gerry Anderson’s final live-action television series made the leap to High Definition on ITVX last year, newly AI-upscaled from the master digibetas by ITV Content Services, and now you can own these new HD versions on Blu-ray! This 30th anniversary collectors edition includes all 24 episodes of the series (including for the first time on any release both the episodic and movie versions of the show’s two two-part stories) plus a host of exciting extras, including a new two-hour documentary on the making of the series, a new short film starring Slomo, and the never-before-released test footage for the show’s unfilmed second season!

Pre-order Space Precinct on Blu-ray from the Official Gerry Anderson Store!

If you fancy showing your support for Precinct 88, the Official Gerry Anderson Store is also now offering these limited edition 30th anniversary Space Precinct t-shirts! Also in the store you’ll now find several discount bundles themed around your favourite Anderson shows, ahead of our main Black Friday sale!

To celebrate the launch of our new UFO collectible at the Official Gerry Anderson Store, here’s a new article celebrating the famous alien spacecraft!

This week’s Thunderbirds Thursday article looked at how military powers of 2065 are portrayed throughout the series!

This week saw the latest chapter in our Stingray 60th anniversary saga Deadly Uprising! Set between chapters 5 and 6 of the new Stingray novel Project Orca, you can see for yourself how construction of the W.A.S.P.’s latest vessel is coming along – but will she truly be a replacement for Stingray herself?

Celebrating a birthday this week was UFO and Space:1999 Moonbase operative actress Andrea Allan (November 18th), while November 22nd was the 92nd anniversary of the 1932 birth of The Protectors star Robert Vaughn and November 23rd the 94th anniversary of the 1930 birth of Stingray voice artist Robert Easton. Popular Anderson episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include Captain Scarlet‘s Operation Time (November 17th 1967), Joe 90‘s International Concerto (November 17th 1968), Fireball XL5‘s Plant Man from Space (November 18th 1962), ThunderbirdsDesperate Intruder (November 18th 1965), TerrahawksThe Gun (November 19th 1983) and The Ultimate Menace (November 21st 1984), New Captain Scarlet‘s Dominion (November 19th 2005), Space:1999‘s End of Eternity (November 20th 1975) and The AB Chrysalis (November 18th 1976), Stingray‘s An Echo of Danger (November 22nd 1964), and The Secret Service‘s The Cure (November 23rd 1969).

I love this job! Let’s back to the station to see what news will be coming in ready for next week’s roundup!
