Thresher on World Tour! – A Gerry Anderson A21 News Report

by A21 Reporter Andy Clems

The World Aquanaut Security Patrol’s former flagship vessel Thresher has embarked on a World Tour.

Thresher, the first WASP vessel to incorporate the revolutionary Ratemaster propulsion system, has set sail on an 8 week voyage around the globe before it is retired from active service to the World Navy museum in New York.

The Thresher’s commanding officer since 2060, Captain Kelsey Bateson, stated, “It’s an honour to take Thresher on one final trip. Folks have been looking forward to seeing her for weeks and the Marineville mail department has been in meltdown with requests for photographs and guided tours.”

We understand that there will be plenty of opportunity for WASP aficionados to take photos of the iconic vessel, but sadly the WASPs rigorous security policies preclude the chance for anyone to set foot on board. Lieutenant Grace ‘Aqua’ Willis elaborated on the strict safety measures, “Thresher still has some of the most advanced systems in the fleet and the last thing we want is for one of Titan’s surface agents to spoil things for everyone by sneaking on board. Stingray has had dealings with enemy agents like that in the past and they can be really devious.”

Stingray herself will joining her sister craft for part of the journey, providing a rare opportunity to see the WASP vessels together. When asked for comment, Commander Shore of Marineville replied, “The first duty of the World Aquanaut Security Patrol is to safeguard the citizens of the Earth. We want each and every person out there to feel safer knowing that we’re doing our very best to protect them every day. However, it is important to recognize the achievements of the organisation to date and Thresher’s contributions to the ongoing struggle against Titan and his underwater armies are certainly something to be celebrated.”

If you’d like to find out where you can see Thresher on tour, please write to the Marineville Public Relations office, enclosing a self-addressed envelope.
