Between Christmas and New Year, there lies…the Gerry Anderson news roundup!
This week’s very special festive edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Christmas Day, and featured the second part of an interview with Terry Adlam of Terrahawks and Dick Spanner fame! As we remember and reflect on 2023, we also remembered the great Gerry Anderson on the 11th anniversary of his passing on December 26th – and we’re very grateful that many of you were able to join in with your own thoughts and memories on social media using the #CheersGerryAnderson hashtag. Jamie Anderson also published a letter to all Anderfans this week with his thoughts on the anniversary, which you can read here.
Celebrating a Christmas Eve birthday this week was Space:1999 actress Alibe Parsons, along with posthumous birthdays for UFO actor Michael Billington (born December 24th 1941) and Thunderbirds voice artist Matt Zimmerman (December 26th 1934), while popular Anderson episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include Terrahawks‘ A Christmas Miracle (December 24th 1983), Thunderbirds‘ Give or Take a Million (December 25th 1966), Stingray‘s Tune of Danger (December 27th 1964), Captain Scarlet‘s Model Spy (December 29th 1967), Thunderbirds‘ The Mighty Atom (December 30th 1965), and UFO‘s The Psychobombs (December 30th 1970).
