It’s been another busy week for all things Anderson!
On Tuesday we announced a livestream event for Monday January 30th celebrating the launch of the critically acclaimed documentary Gerry Anderson: A Life Uncharted on DVD and Blu-ray from Network (as well as on DVD and streaming in the US via MPI Media in North America). This event will be moderated by David Munday with special guests Jamie Anderson and A Life Uncharted’s award-winning director and producer Benjamin Field. They’ll be answering your questions live, as well as recalling the process and challenges of compiling the documentary, surprise findings and discoveries, and what did and didn’t make the initial cut. This special streaming event will be live across the Official Gerry Anderson Facebook, Twitter, Twitch and YouTube from 6pm on January 30th 2023 – don’t miss it! (But if you do, don’t worry – it’ll still be available to catch up with online!)
Celebrating birthdays this week have been Mary Anderson, widow of the late great Gerry, plus Space Precinct actor and Gerry Anderson Podcast co-host Richard James, while we also remembered the late co-founder and director of Network Distributing Tim Beddows who would have been 60 years old on Friday.
It’s not just the people behind the shows either; Supercar also celebrates the 62nd anniversary of its first ever UK broadcast today! Popular episodes that first aired this week in the UK in years gone by include Stingray’s The Big Gun (January 24th 1965), Captain Scarlet’s Crater 101 (January 26th 1968) and Thunderbirds’ Cry Wolf (January 27th 1966)
