To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gerry Anderson’s classic series, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, Network Distributing have announced a Captain Scarlet Blu-ray – volume 1, which is now available for pre-order from their website!

The first volume includes The Mysterons, Winged Assassin, Big Ben Strikes Again, Point 783, Manhunt, Operation Time, Renegade Rocket and White as snow, with further volumes being released in the coming months, and into early 2018.
As you’ll see from the trailer above, the picture quality is absolutely phenomenal. These episodes have been restored from the film negatives. It’s the first time the film negatives have been used to produce a home entertainment release of the series, so the picture quality, clarity and colour of the restoration is unrivalled.
The first Captain Scarlet Blu-ray volume is also presented in a special ‘scarlet’ Blu-ray case, and features one of the stunning and inimitable Ron Embleton end-title cards.

Originally transmitted on 29th September 1967, Captain Scarlet is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary today!
