There’s less than a week to go for this year’s Gerry Anderson Day (April 14th)! Every year on this date, we celebrate the life and legacy of Gerry Anderson and his incredible filmography of classic television and film productions. This year’s wider theme is welcoming new fans, and to achieve that, we’re offering a plethora of classic Anderson content across our online platforms for any new Anderfans to enjoy.
Here’s a rundown of what Anderfans new and old can experience on the day itself!
Broadcast, Primers & UFO
Throughout Gerry Anderson Day 2024, you’ll be able to enjoy a repeating 12-hour broadcast of classic material on our YouTube channel. Wherever you are in the world, you’ll be able to tune into this live digital broadcast, which will be shown twice from 7 AM BST on the April 14th. The broadcast itself will consist of classic episodes, documentaries and more from across Gerry’s eclectic career from puppetry to live-action and beyond.
In-between both showings of the broadcast, our regular online host Jack Knoll will be hosting a separate live stream with Jamie Anderson, which will include our first ever Anderson Online Preview. This will include exclusive teasers of some exciting upcoming releases from Anderson Entertainment. You’ll be able to enjoy this interactive livestream from 7 PM BST.
However, the classic broadcast won’t just be showcasing older material! Within the show will be a brand new audio UFO story called ‘Satellite Scare’, read by Nicholas Briggs, of Big Finish fame. A new instalment in Chris Dale’s popular Gerry Anderson Primers will also be featured within the livestream, this time focusing on Gerry Anderson’s entire career, offering fans comprehensive insights into Gerry’s life and worlds.
We’ll be highlighting all that’s going on for Gerry Anderson Day across our social media channels, so you won’t miss the opportunity to dive in on the day itself!
