Pod 165: Thunderbirds Generations with David Munday

There is learning your ABCs, and then there is learning the names of the International Rescue vehicles! Which is more important? Thunderbirds obviously! Maybe not, but this week David Munday explains how it is that he became a fan thirty years after shows like Stingray and Captain Scarlet were made – in the middle of the Pokemon craze! A sports journalist and writer by trade, David recalls balancing his love of sports with a love of sci-fi, Thunderbirds as a family event involving multiple generations, and television as a medium combing the best of sound design, special effects, and music to create a believable world to give kids a means of better understanding the grown-up world.
