This week in Gerry Anderson News

Howdy folks – say, you’re just in time for the latest edition of the Gerry Anderson news roundup!

This week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Monday, and was recorded in front of a live audience at the BritSciFi event at the Leicester Space Centre on Saturday June 17th! As well as all the usual features the Podcast featured a very special live performance of the recently rediscovered unfilmed Four Feather Falls script Dusty’s Day – featuring the voice talents of Richard James, Chris Dale, and Doctor Who’s Sophie Aldred as Tex Tucker’s four-legged friend Dusty! If you missed this week’s episode you can catch it (and all other previous episodes) either through our website or via your podcast platform of choice – and we’re hoping to have video of the Podcast available soon!

Also new this week over on the Gerry Anderson Randomiser Podcast (also available on all podcast platforms) the Supercar team were lured into a trap by Masterspy and Zarin in the episode False Alarm!

Many of the Official Gerry Anderson team were at the Space Centre for the BritSciFi event last weekend, and in addition to a live recording of the Gerry Anderson Podcast there was also a recording of FAB Live, plus a selection of original models, replica craft and puppets, and our merchandise stall! Were you present? Did you have a good time? Did you meet like-minded fans? Did you learn about the art of drawing Fireball XL5? Let us know in the comments below!

On Wednesday this week’s FAB Fact video travelled back in time to the Leicester of 20 years ago to investigate an unusual take on the Captain Scarlet universe! Watch the video to find out more!

At the recording of the Podcast came a special announcement; beginning on July 3rd, the Podcast will be recorded on camera from a new studio at the Thunderbirds-themed Moxy hotel in Slough! You can still enjoy the Podcast on audio, but if you fancy watching along – and seeing Jamie, Richard, Chris and guests live on camera – you’ll now have that option too!

If you enjoyed Spectrum: The Worlds of Gerry Anderson, the 2022 graphic novel collecting new stories from the worlds of Terrahawks, Space Precinct and New Captain Scarlet, you’ll be happy to know that a second volume is coming later this year! More details available here.

AC is back with another Ander-Answers article – this time look at the varying contents of Thunderbird 2’s pods!

Celebrating birthdays this week were Space:1999 star Nick Tate (June 18th), Space Precinct star Ted Shackelford (June 23rd), and Space Precinct voice artist Gary Martin (June 18th), while popular episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include Fireball XL5’s Space City Special (June 23rd 1963), Stingray‘s Marineville Traitor (June 20th 1965), TerrahawksRunaway (June 21st 1986) and Space Precinct’s The Witness (June 24th 1995).

Looks like it’s time to hit the trail – we’ll see you for more next weekend!
