This week in Gerry Anderson News

Attention all personnel – it’s time for the Gerry Anderson news roundup!

This week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Monday, and featured the first half of an interview with UFO actress Ayshea Brough! If you prefer to stick with traditional audio-only rather than our new and improved video format you can still catch it (and all other previous episodes) every week either through our website or via your podcast platform of choice.

Also new this week over on the Gerry Anderson Randomiser Podcast (also available on all podcast platforms) International Rescue became embroiled in a fashion-themed terrorist takeover, in the Thunderbirds episode Alias Mr. Hackenbacker!

On Wednesday this week’s FAB Fact video set course for 1983, to recount the tale of a Terrahawks puppet’s encounter with a naughty dog – and a river! Watch the video for the full story!

Now available to pre-order from the Official Gerry Anderson Store are the 2024 Thunderbirds and Space:1999 calendars! Order this week and receive a free keyring with your pre-order!

Also now available to pre-order from the Official Gerry Anderson Store are Corgi’s upcoming diecast models of Thunderbirds 2 and 4, the Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle, and Angel Interceptor!

Thunderbirds is back on British television! The series starts today on Talking Pictures TV (Virgin 445, Freesat Channel 306, Freeview Channel 82, Youview Channel 82 or on Sky Channel Number 328) at 3PM with the show’s first episode, Trapped in the Sky. If you miss an episode, you have a week to view it online via Talking Pictures’ catchup service Encore.

This week saw posthumous birthdays for Terrahawks‘ voice artist Windsor Davies (August 28th), UFO star George Sewell (August 31st) and Captain Scarlet himself Francis Matthews (September 2nd), while popular episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include Four Feather FallsSafe as Houses (September 1st 1960), The Protectors Thinkback (September 1st 1972), and Space 1999’s Devil’s Planet (September 1st 1977).

We’ll be back next weekend with another Gerry Anderson news roundup – so stand by for action!
