This week in Gerry Anderson News

Attention all sections – stand by for the Gerry Anderson news roundup!

This week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Monday, and featured the second part of our interview with UFO actress Ayshea Brough! If you prefer to stick with traditional audio-only rather than our new and improved video format you can still catch it (and all other previous episodes) every week either through our website or via your podcast platform of choice.

Also new this week over on the Gerry Anderson Randomiser Podcast (also available on all podcast platforms) Captain Scarlet faced a poisonous plot from the Mysterons, in the episode Place of Angels!

On Wednesday this week’s FAB Fact video took a look at Space:1999 star Nick Tate’s post-Anderson career connected to some of the biggest films in Hollywood – but in a capacity where you may not have seen his face! Click the video to learn more!

Speaking of Space:1999, September 13th – also known as Breakaway Day to fans of the series as the date on which the Moon first left orbit – is approaching fast! Among several surprises coming your way this week you can catch a Space:1999 livestream event with David Munday and Jack Knoll at 7pm on September 13th!

This week we teased one of several exciting developments coming soon to celebrate Thunderbirds Day – but what possible connection could there be between the wall portraits of the Tracy boys and the Official Gerry Anderson Store? Keep this frequency clear and await further instructions!

On the subject of teases, Jamie Anderson tweeted this image taken earlier this week at a top secret location – can you work out who is on the other side of the keyhole? Stand by for linkup, as all will be revealed before the end of the year…

Celebrating birthdays this week were UFO actress Suzanne Neve (September 6th) who played Mary Straker in two episodes of the show, and Jeffery Kissoon (September 4th) who played Doctor Ben Vincent in seven episodes of Space:1999, while popular Anderson episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include New Captain Scarlet’s Touch of the Reaper (September 3rd 2005), Space:1999‘s season premieres Breakaway (September 4th 1975) & The Metamorph (September 4th 1976), and The Protectors A Kind of Wild Justice (September 8th 1972).

We’ll be back next weekend with another Gerry Anderson news roundup – so keep this frequency clear!
