We’re sad to report the passing of actor Roy Dotrice. He was best known to Gerry Anderson fans for his memorable role as Commissioner Simmonds in two episodes of Space: 1999, Breakaway and Earthbound.
Outside the Gerry Anderson series, Roy had a remarkable career in countless productions ranging from Fagin in the stage version of Oliver! to Hallyne in critically acclaimed Game of Thrones.
He loved baseball, fishing and soccer, was a stalwart member of the Garrick Club and was appointed OBE in 2008. He died on Monday, 16 October at the age of 94 and is is survived by daughters, Karen, Michele and Yvette, who are all actors, and seven grandchildren.
