This week in Gerry Anderson news!

It’s Gerry Anderson Day Eve – have you got the bunting out for tomorrow’s celebrations?

This week’s edition of the Gerry Anderson Podcast launched on Sunday evening, and featured the first part of an interview with voice actor Marc Silk, star of Anderson Entertainment’s Fireball XL5 and Stingray audio dramas! We also have a new format for the podcast – what do you think of it? Please let us know!

If you prefer to stick with traditional audio-only rather than our new and improved video format you can still catch it (and all other previous episodes) every week either through our website or via your podcast platform of choice.

Also new this week over on the Gerry Anderson Randomiser Podcast (also available on all podcast platforms) the Terrahawks find themselves facing the enemy, as Yung-star becomes a Runaway!

Tomorrow (April 14th) is Gerry Anderson Day 2024, celebrating the life and legacy of Gerry Anderson – plus his incredible filmography of classic television and film productions! Here’s a new article explaining what you can look forward to on Gerry Anderson Day 2024, including our 12 hour streaming event featuring episodes, documentaries, a new primer, a new UFO audio drama, a special livestream and more! Will you be tuning in?

Also as part of the Gerry Anderson Day celebrations, 2022’s Stand by for Action! Gerry Anderson in Concert will be available to view on ITVX! Also joining the platform this weekend are the complete run of Fireball XL5, and the 2018 documentary Century 21 Slough produced by Century 21 Films!

It’s the last call for the limited edition Gerry Anderson Day 2024 t-shirt design, featuring the Anderson ‘A’ logo made up of iconic vehicles, logos and other symbols from the worlds of Gerry Anderson – with a special focus on Stingray to commemorate its 60th anniversary year!

This week’s Thunderbirds Thursday article took a look back at the beginnings of the series, and the show’s classic first episode Trapped in the Sky!

Popular Anderson episodes that first aired in the UK this week in years past include Fireball XL5‘s Drama at Space City (April 7th 1963), Supercar‘s Jail Break (April 8th 1962), Lavender Castle‘s Brightonia on Sea (April 8th 1999), New Captain Scarlet‘s Rain of Terror (April 9th 2005), and Stingray‘s Secret of the Giant Oyster (April 11th 1965).

We hope you enjoy tomorrow’s Gerry Anderson Day – and we’ll be back next weekend with another Gerry Anderson news roundup!
